Stamp Duty is payable if you buy a residential property over £250,000.

STAMP DUTY WILL BE PAYABLE AS FOLLOWS
No Stamp Duty on the first £250,000.00
PLUS 5% on the portion between £250,000 & £925,000
PLUS 10% on the portion between £925,000 & £1.5 million
PLUS 12% on the portion over £1.5 million
BUY-TO-LET & SECOND HOMES
Residential property over £40,000 purchased as a second home or as an additional buy-to-let will incur surcharge stamp duty. This is based at 3% of the total price.
NOTE: If your matter requires additional work that it not included in this estimate, you will be informed of this and what the additional cost(s) will be at the earliest possible time. Matters typically exceed the quoted fee when they are particularly complicated, for example on a first registration of title transaction or where a lease has to be extended as part of the purchase of a leasehold property.
